  • Regional Co-operation and Best Practices in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova


    There are many positive efforts and initiatives taking place in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine with regards to education for democratic citizenship and human rights education. This was highlighted in February in Kyiv, when 23 experienced education professionals representing various institutions met to discuss how to promote a practical approach to democratic citizenship and human rights education in schools, including the dissemination and use of relevant Council of Europe tools and materials.

Practicing Citizenship Seminar in Armenia

15 regions of the Russian Federation were represented when the Citizenship Education seminar took place in Yerevan, Armenia, between February 26th and March 1st. As part of the Practicing Citizenship program, 44 education professionals met to share and discuss experiences and ideas, as well as to be introduced to the Council of Europe’s (CoE) concepts of democratic citizenship and human rights education (EDC/HRE), and to their main approaches and publications on this area. The diversity in regions and professional backgrounds served as a great motivation for cooperation and sharing of experiences.
