EWC events in Arendal

EWC is present at Arendalsuka this week with a stand and as a co-host of public events. Arendalsuka is the largest political gathering in Norway.

Arendalsuka has a clear mission to strengthen the belief in political empowerment and democracy through an open debate and involvement.   During the week EWC will be present with a stand in Arendal together with six other Norwegian Peace and Human Rights Centres.

We will co-host three public events.

August 13 there will be panel discussion on promoting democratic citizenship in Norwegian Primary Schools “Den demokratiske skolesekken – fra læreplan til praksis”

August 14 we invite everyone to an informal jazz and quiz night at Café Lindvedske from 19:30 onwards.

August 15 EWC’s Inga Riseth will take part in a panel discussion on conspiracy theories against the Sami minority: Samehets og konspirasjoner: Grums eller trussel mot demokratiet?. The Peace and Human Rights Centres published the op-ed Samehets: ufarlig grums eller en trussel mot demokratiet? in Norwegian daily Aftenposten about the topic, co-signed by our executive director Ana Perona-Fjeldstad.
