Schools for Democracy to World Forum for Democracy

Schools for Democracy, EWC’s national program for education for democratic citizenship in Ukraine, has been selected to participate at the 2016 World Forum for Democracy.

The World Forum for Democracy will take place November 7-9 in Strasbourg. The topic this year is Democracy and equality: Does education matter? The Forum will focus on how education can help bridge the social divide and become a real asset for our diverse democracies.

The Forum will analyse the impact of education systems on democracy and identify innovative initiatives and practices which can make education more democracy-centred, and critically assess their potential to trigger systemic change. Schools for Democracy has been selected as one of these good practices and is therefore a candidate to be given the Council of Europe recognition for democratic innovation.
