The South East Europe Summer Academy 2017

On September 16th teacher trainers from South East Europe gathered in Cetinje, Montenegro for a five-day training on Democracy and Human Rights at School. 


The 2017 edition of the South East Europe Summer Academy was a training of teacher trainers, carried out by EWC in cooperation with the Montenegrin Bureau of Education. During five intense days the participants were introduced to the latest Council of Europe approaches and tools in citizenship and human rights education. A special focus was put on how to develop democratic competences in young learners through school development.

As part of the training, participants have been asked to run a training event on citizenship and human rights education upon the return to their home institutions. The development of the training curricula’s were initiated already on Cetinje. All participants were assigned a mentor who will continue their guidance and support as necessary during the implementation of the local training events between November 2017 and May 2018.

The SEE ToT training team consisted of Ms. Olena Styslavsla, Polen; Dr. Angelos Vallianatos, Greece, Mr. Edward Huddleston, Great Britain, and Mr. Dragutin Scekic, Montenegro.
