Students united against hate

What we do Document Hate I´m Against
The project "Hate I´m Against" gathered Norwegian and Polish students and teachers in Warsaw from 21-22 November for a workshop on how to prevent and respond to hate speech online and offline.

Hate I´m Against is a joint project of the European Wergeland Centre (EWC) and Center for Citizenship Education (CEO), and is funded through the EEA Grants.

Students from all over Poland

30 students and 30 teachers participated from all over Poland while 2 teachers and 4 students participated from Norway at the workshop.

In addition to the workshop in Warsaw the project also includes an online course, youth campaigns and an online festival where students from the two countries can exchange experiences and knowledge about how to prevent and combat hate speech.

Teacher trainings in Norwegian schools

The Norwegian participants were all from Lambertseter High School in Oslo. The same week as the trip to Warsaw the EWC conducted the first of a series of teacher trainings based on "Bookmarks- a manual for combating online hate speech through human rights education", the educational tool developed by the No Hate Speech Movement campaign of the Council of Europe, at Lambertseter.
