Romania: Building Democratic School Cultures

Related to: Building Democratic School Cultures in Romania

Training and study visit for Romanian Teacher Trainers Oslo. 

What: A training course and study visit that aims to support the quality of teacher training in Romania through strengthening competences of teacher trainers, school inspectors and school counselors.

For: Romanian Teacher Training Houses, County Centres for Resources and Educational Assistance or County School Inspectorates, responsible for the in-service training of teachers. 

How: Five days of face-to-face training in Oslo, Norway and a one-day study visit. Following the training and study visit, participants will organize courses and seminars in Romania in collaboration with their respective institutions and present the results at a follow-up meeting in Romania. 

Result: Strengthened capacity of county school inspectorates, teacher training institutions and education centres in Romania in citizenship and human rights education.

Øystein Bryhni is responsible for the management of EWCs public relations and other information activities. He has the editorial responsibility for the centre’s web pages and other online resources as well as written publications.

Bryhni has a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, a Bachelor of Science in International History from the London School of Economics and a degree in Journalism from the Oslo University College. He has previously been Head of Communications at Norwegian People’s Aid and a journalist at the foreign news desk of the Norwegian News Agency NTB.
