Policy Outreach and International Cooperation

Related to: Schools for Democracy in Ukraine

Policy Outreach and International Cooperation will provide opportunities for international cooperation and sharing of experiences between policy makers and education experts in Ukraine, Norway, Georgia and Moldova in order to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of educational reforms in Ukraine.

What: Capacity building and support to Ukrainian education experts and policy makers in policy development and implementation of educational reforms in Ukraine.

For: Teacher trainers, education experts, policy-makers

How: Joint training workshops with international experts; study visits to Norway; policy advice; evaluation of the performance of all the components of the Programme.

Result: Recommendations for improved policy making and implementation of education reforms in Ukraine drawing on lessons learned from policy-makers and experts in Norway, Georgia and Moldova, as well as experience gained from other programme activities.

Organized by: The European Wergeland Centre in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Jennie Holck-Clausen is a human rights expert working as an Advisor with the Nordic Programmes and Cooperation at the European Wergeland Centre. Her particular area of expertise is human rights education and capacity development programmes with a focus on National Human Rights Institutions. Prior to joining the European Wergeland Centre she worked at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Lund, Sweden, managing human rights projects in South Caucasus, South-East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa targeting National Human Rights Institutions, civil society and law enforcement agencies.
Holck-Clausen holds a Master of Laws from Lund University, Sweden with a specialisation in international human rights law.

Iryna Sabor is responsible for the EWC's projects in Ukraine. She holds a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Oslo (Norway) and a Master's in International Economic Relations from the University of Lviv (Ukraine). She has earlier served in the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was posted at the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway.

Marina Dyshlovska is an Advisor for the programme "Schools for Democracy: Supporting Educational Reforms in Ukraine". Her main responsibilities are to ensure appropriate implementation of the Programme and to report to the donor on Programme results.

Dyshlovska holds a Master’s degree in English and Swedish Philology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She previously worked at the Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv as project coordinator.
