Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development

On 23 March 2011, the Human Rights Council adopted the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training. The Council recommended that the General Assembly adopt the United Nations Declaration, which will be decided in a vote at the end of the year.

The Council invites Governments, agencies and organizations of the United Nations system and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to intensify their efforts to disseminate the Declaration and to promote universal respect and understanding thereof.
