It’s the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In 1989, world leaders decided that children needed a special convention just for them because people under 18 years old are often neglected in the human rights debate. The leaders wanted to make sure that the world recognized that children have human rights too.

Brian Pearce, newly retired director of the Interfaith Network for the UK, was July 15th awarded the honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the Warwick University degree congregation.

Lars Gudmundson has a MA in History of Ideas and Political Sciences from the University of Oslo. He has wide experience from the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research and the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. He has actively worked with issues concerning education about religion and strategy plans promoting democratic citizenship in schools.
