Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (WRERU) has just published the results of a large scale study on "Materials used to Teach about World Religions in Schools in England". This study, the first ever to focus on the use of materials used in religious education, involved 29 researchers and reviewers.

The Human Rights Council Advisory Committee continued its discussion on a Draft Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training on January 25 during its fourth session in Geneva. Among other issues, the role of youth as a substantive factor promoting human rights education and training was discussed.

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights released a new study on Holocaust and Human Rights Education. The report reveals, that despite the commitment to Human Rights Education expressed in Ministries throughout the EU, teaching about the Holocaust rarely includes discussion of human rights issues.

The Centre for Human Rights Education at the University of Teacher Education Lucerne/ Switzerland is issuing a call for participation for the 7th International Human Rights Forum "Human Rights and Pervasive Computing", which will take place from May 18-19.

Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is issuing a call for applications for their upcoming e-learning courses covering a variety of human rights topics (e.g. human rights education, European Union and human rights). Registration deadline is Monday, 1 February 2010.
