"Free as a man" by Predrag Stakić is the winner of a competition of more than 15.000 submissions from more than 190 countries. Cinema for Peace held a dinner on September 23 in New York City celebrating the first Universal Logo for Human Rights, after the worldwide community selected the winner. Celebrities, artists and Human Right defenders from all over the world attended the event.

CoE Secretary General, Thorbjørn Jagland, and the Norwegian State Secretary, Erik Lahnstein, signed an agreement September 29 in Oslo, which provides support to the organisation’s cooperation activities in Official Development Assistance recipient states (ODA), in the fields of human rights, rule of law and democracy.

The CoE Pestalozzi workshop took place 19-23 September at the Falstad Centre in Norway.19 participants from 16 different European Countries, most of them teachers and teacher trainers, shared an intensive one-week workshop that covered different thematic areas in the field of intercultural learning.

The evaluation report from the second Summer Academy: Democracy at School in Warsaw 9-16 July is now available (also in Russian). 10 teams from 8 different countries took part in the training, they all completed an evaluation form the final day. The feedback is valuable, especially in terms of planning the Summer Academy 2012.

The Human Rights Council adopted the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training in March this year. The Council invites Governments, agencies and organizations of the United Nations system and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to intensify their efforts to disseminate the Declaration and to promote universal respect and understanding thereof.
