The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have launched the seventh phase (2011-2012) of the ACT (Assisting Communities Together) Project. The ACT Project supports human rights education, training and public information activities conceived and carried out by civil society organizations by means of small grants (up to 7,000 USD).
The seventh phase will be implemented in the following countries/territories (applications from other countries are not considered):
- Cameroon
- Cape Verde
- Central African Republic
- Djibouti
- Ecuador
- Iraq
- Kosovo
- Mauritania
- Republic of Moldova
- Senegal
- The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
- Togo
- Uganda, and
- Uruguay.
Applications are accepted from non-governmental organizations, local associations, academic institutions and other civil society institutions carrying out human rights promotional activities in local communities. Organizations that have already received an ACT grant in the past are eligible as long as they have no outstanding reports concerning the previously funded project.
Application forms, guidelines and deadlines are available from local UNDP country offices and/or OHCHR field presences in the above-mentioned countries and territories.
