Brian Pearce awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Warwick University

Brian Pearce, newly retired director of the Interfaith Network for the
UK, was July 15th awarded the honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the
Warwick University degree congregation.

Mr Pearce served in the civil service from 1959 to 1986, and was
director for the Inter Faith Network for the UK since it was established
in 1987. The Inter Faith Network works at both local and national level
to foster inter-faith cooperation and understanding, and the network
brings together representatives from different religious organizations.

Mr Pearce has also had a long association with the Warwick Religions and
Education Research Unit (WRERU). Professor Robert Jackson, Director of
the WRERU and special adviser at the European Wergeland Centre, made the
ceremonial speech for Mr Pearce at the award ceremony. Professor Jackson
and Kjersti Toverud Klette, adviser at the European Wergeland Centre,
were guests at the award dinner.
