Aim and Scope of the Conference

The conference is organised as part of the AHRC/ESRC Religion & Society Programme, of which Prof. Linda Woodhead is the Director. The conference will bring together research teams which have been awarded grants within the youth call of the Progamme as well as other related projects. The focus of the conference will be on young people of school age (up to 18) and presentations will include topics related to religious education in schools and religious nurture or socialisation within families, communities or peer groups.
 

Conference Organisation

The Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (WRERU) at the University of Warwick is one of the award holders (Young People’s Attitudes to Religious Diversity), under the directorship by Prof. Robert Jackson. The conference is organised by Dr Elisabeth Arweck, with support from members of the WRERU project team.


Conference Participants

Apart from members of various research teams, the conference participants will include educationalists, academics, researchers, representatives of interfaith organisations, RE teachers and advisers, media representatives, and policy makers.
