The Centre for Human Rights Education at the University of Teacher Education Lucerne/ Switzerland is issuing a call for participation for the 7th International Human Rights Forum "Human Rights and Pervasive Computing", which will take place from May 18-19.

The 7th International Human Rights Forum Lucerne (IHRF) will discuss the topic "Human Rights and Pervasive Computing"on May 18th and 19th, 2010.

The theme and main aim of the 2009 Lisbon Forum have been to promote the creation of a culture of human rights, through “quadrilogue” action, i.e. governments, local and regional authorities and civil society. This year the Forum took place on 13-14 of November.

On 6-7 April 2009, almost 2000 people gathered in the capital of Turkey, Istanbul, for the 2nd Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Heads of government. Ministers and policy-makers. Business leaders and philanthropists. Civil society activists. Religious leaders. Journalists. Thinkers and scholars. Young people.

The "Forum on Universality of Human Rights" will be held in Oslo 21-22 October, organized by the Education Committee of INGOs at the Council of Europe, and the EWC.

The European Roma Rights Centre organizes an annual Summer School, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 25 July – 4 August 2010. The 10-day activity is intended for young Romani activists, students, and Roma/Human rights activists from all European countries. The Summer School offers both an introduction to human rights as well as an excellent forum for the exchange of ideas, innovation and expertise for participants.

On May 6, one of the latest Council of Europe publication “Compasito - a Manual for Human Rights Education With Children“ (German version) was presented to educational professionals in Berlin/ Germany. The EWC contributed actively by introducing some methods which can be used when starting to explore children rights.
